Alf Filer was a dedicated socialist and anti-fascist who was active in London and on the South Coast until his death in a tragic accident in June last year at the age of only 59. Alf was a revolutionary and a member of Socialist Resistance, but he devoted much of his time trying to build unity on the Left, both to fight racism and also, latterly, the Coalition government’s austerity agenda.
